Who I am

Preburn is made by one independent developer. For anything about your data, write to preburn@proton.me.

Your orders and fonts

The orders file and the font you drop are read in your browser and never uploaded. Closing the tab removes them.

Usage counts

I count visits and actions with Umami Cloud, without cookies: for example “table downloaded”, how many orders a file had and how many need a check, whether a font was used, which setting was turned on or off, the type of feedback sent, the price answer in the early-access form, and that questions-page answers were sent, with the link label you came from and whether you asked for a chat. Umami records the page address, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate location (country, region, city). It uses your IP address to work out the location and a visitor ID that changes every month, and does not keep the IP address in the statistics. The counts never include names, order text or file names. Statistics are kept for 6 months in the EU. I do this because I need to know whether the tool is used (legitimate interest); you can block it in your browser or object by email.

Your settings

Filters and checks you change are remembered in your own browser. Which setting was changed is counted as above, and if you send feedback, the list of changed settings goes with it.

Early-access email

If you join the early-access list, Netlify (the host) stores your email, your optional answer about price and how many orders your file had. I process them because you asked to join (consent), which you can withdraw at any time. I use them only to tell you when the jig file is ready and to ask how it works for you. I never sell or share them, and I delete them when you unsubscribe or ask, or 12 months after you sign up.

Questions page

If you answer the questions about how you prep orders, Netlify stores your answers, the label of the link you came from (for example “em-a”), and your email and ticked boxes if you give them. I process them because you chose to send them (consent), which you can withdraw at any time. I use the answers to decide what to build and to write a summary that names no shops, and your email only for what you ticked. I never sell or share them, and I delete them on request or 12 months after receiving them.

Feedback

If you send feedback, Netlify stores your message, your email if you give one, and technical details that help me fix things: the page version, the counts from your file (orders, rows, skipped lines), the names of the checks you changed, your font’s file type, and your browser and operating system version. Never the orders themselves. I do this to fix problems you report (legitimate interest) and delete feedback 12 months after receiving it.

Forms and hosting

With each form, Netlify also records your IP address, browser and the page you sent it from, and checks the submission for spam with Akismet. As the host, Netlify also processes every visitor’s IP address in its server logs to deliver the site.

Where data is kept

Netlify is in the United States, so form data and server logs are kept there under Netlify’s data processing agreement. Akismet, the spam check, is run by Automattic in the United States. Usage counts are stored by Umami in the EU; Umami’s network and logging providers may handle your IP address outside the EU to deliver the request.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent, at any time by writing to preburn@proton.me. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
